Enjoy delicious breakfasts at our B&B in Eryri | Snowdonia, North Wales

Breakfast is a very important part of your stay with us - you’re on holiday!

Served in the dining room of our Victorian home between 8 and 9.15am, we create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere in which to start your day here in North Wales.

Our dining room

If you’re hoping to have an earlier start - maybe you want to climb up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) first thing - don’t worry!

Just let us know your plans in advance or on arrival and we will discuss options with you - for instance we can provide a takeaway breakfast.

Equally if you are coming to relax and fancy breakfast in bed as a special treat we can do that too - again let’s have a chat when you get here!

We are still talking about the breakfasts!!!

Our breakfast menu

Enjoy a traditional cooked breakfast

Offering you the choice of local sausage and bacon, free-range Welsh eggs, slow-roasted tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms and baked beans, our traditional cooked breakfast will set you up for the day.

We can also prepare a similar vegetarian or vegan traditional cooked breakfast with plant-based sausages instead.

Our offering is technically not a ‘traditional Welsh breakfast’ as that would normally include the Welsh delicacy ‘laverbread’ which is edible seaweed.

This is obviously an acquired taste and we normally choose not to serve it, however, our savoury laverbread cakes are starting to make an appearance now and then!

Try our daily breakfast special?

We also offer a ‘daily special’ if you fancy something else for breakfast - it gives you the chance to try a different dish each morning when you stay with us, if you wish!

The daily special rotates and changes every day (often between savoury and sweet) and it is always vegetarian.

We can also usually adapt it or create something equally tasty for other alternative diets such as vegan / plant-based, dairy / lactose free and coeliac / gluten-free.

We take inspiration from our favourite foods, cuisines and flavours from around the world - especially Welsh dishes and ingredients of course - and the breakfast specials we regularly offer include:

  • omelettes

  • French toast

  • American-style pancakes

  • sweetcorn fritters

  • potato and onion hash

  • frittatas

  • miso-glazed mushrooms on toast with ‘overnight’ soy eggs

  • kimchi pancake

  • freshly made waffles with different toppings

  • shakshuka

  • Turkish eggs

  • slow-roasted tomatoes on toast with ricotta

  • Japanese-style ‘okonomiyaki pancake’

  • avocado on toast with a poached egg

  • Welsh rarebit

  • Indian-style ‘masala’ toast

  • potato rösti

… to name but a few, and we are always looking to create other new and unique breakfast dishes for our guests.

If there is a daily special above you would particularly like to try then just drop a subtle hint when you stay with us - it usually works!

Or something else for breakfast?

Equally we are happy to prepare you something lighter or simpler for breakfast such as scrambled eggs on toast, a warming bowl of porridge with honey, or why not a tasty bacon sandwich.

To round things off we always have fresh fruit, juices, local Welsh yogurt, homemade jams and preserves, toast, and cereals always available.

Special diets and requests

Special diets and requests for vegetarian, vegan / plant-based, halal, coeliac / gluten-free / wheat-free and dairy / lactose-free breakfasts are of course catered for.

We always have plant-based milks available and some of our daily specials are vegan by choice anyway - for instance our pancakes are made with almond milk as it by far works the best!

Please advise us of any dietary requirements in advance so we can ensure we have suitable ingredients, adapt our offerings and create delicious dishes when you stay with us.

My gluten free diet could not have been better catered for too (I even got my own biscuits!)

On that note, excellent breakfast. The ingredients of which are locally sourced, which I love.

Locally sourced Welsh produce & ingredients

Being passionate about food - you will see our rather large cookbook collection in the snug! - we endeavour to source and cook fresh and local Welsh produce for our tasty breakfasts where possible.

As part of this we support some of the best independent producers and suppliers Eryri | Snowdonia and Wales has to offer, who provide us with top quality products and ingredients.

The village butchers in Trefriw

We have the luxury of a village butchers and grocery store in Trefriw - affectionately known locally as ‘Maralyn’s’ - which is right opposite our bed and breakfast!

Superb quality handmade pork sausages are made for us each week and bacon along with other delicious products also come from there.

It is justifiably famous in North Wales for the sausage rolls and pies that are made on the premises - definitely try them when you stay!
