We’ve been so busy with guests staying at Crafnant House that we haven’t had time to update our blog!
Our bed and breakfast has been busier than ever - as has Snowdonia and North Wales! - so here is a quick update on our summer.
Decorating the bed and breakfast!
Despite being busy we still found time to pick up a paintbrush (or spray can!) and make a few changes to the decor in the B&B - we’re always thinking of ways we can change and improve things!
Room 2 got a blue feature wall to mirror the other bedrooms which already had a splash of colour.
This meant room 3 - our largest guest bedroom - was the only one without a feature wall. This soon changed in September when we had a short window of opportunity!
New bedside lights and tables enhance the package and we’re really please with the new boutique appearance!
The small window on our first landing has a great view of the garden and Conwy Valley, but something was missing, so a can of gold spray paint later…..
It really frames the scene now!
Summer in the garden
Good weather meant we got lots of opportunities to spend time in the garden, and we finally got around to creating a new seating area overlooking the river at the back.
Two tons of gravel were delivered on a boiling hot day and we had enough left over to also improve the fire pit area.
Guests have really enjoyed using both since we completed the work - they are perfect places to relax and chill out after a busy day of sightseeing in Snowdonia!
Breakfast specials!
It has been great welcoming so many people to North Wales, many coming for the first time to our wonderful region.
We’re proud our B&B has a great reputation for the breakfast we serve, and some delicious specials have been served up over the summer.
These have included potato rostis, Welsh rarebit, waffles, Spanish tortilla, Indian-style masala toast and our popular stack of pancakes!
Days out in North Wales
We have also found the time to get out and about in Snowdonia and North Wales in the summer.
We visited Caenarfon; the new pier at Colwyn Bay; Conwy on a boiling hot day! ; and the new whisky distillery in Llandudno.
We also had fish and chips on the beach at Conwy Morfa; did walks to the lakes above our village, Trefriw; and also had a great day out on Anglesey.
It is only when you travel around our beautiful region that you realise the fantastic sights and attractions that North Wales has for any visitor!
The Tour of Britain comes to Trefriw!
Finally September delivered a real treat when the Tour of Britain cycling race came right past our bed and breakfast!
The cyclists had a gruelling day in the saddle from Aberaeron in Mid-Wales to the finish in Llandudno on the North Wales coast, but it was fantastic seeing them go through Trefriw - we were on the front porch banging pots and pans as they sped past our house!
Without doubt in 2024 North Wales will again be one of the best places in the United Kingdom for mountain biking!
The rugged beauty of Eryri | Snowdonia and breathtaking landscapes across the region offer incredible trails that cater to all skill levels, making it a dream destination for MTB enthusiasts.
Are you ready to embark on an adrenaline-fueled adventure that will take your mountain bike skills to a whole new level?
Here is our guide to the best trail centres and locations for mountain biking in North Wales, all not far from our B&B - Crafnant House - in Trefriw!
